Life and its many opportunities

It’s almost that time of the year in Israel: Chanukah. Besides being my favourite festival on the Jewish calendar, it is also the festival of some pretty outrageous donut variants called sufganiot.

This is kinda like the Israeli version of Christmas lights and songs materialising in the months before Christmas. Well, we have some of that too, for some reason, in Jewish parts of the country.

These sufganiot can be pretty elaborate, and definitely not Diabetic-friendly. I basically have one a year, and then spend two weeks trying to bring my blood glucose levels down afterwards.

It’s worth it though.
