I noticed that both Apple and Google are fixated on a well-known mountain in the United States called El Capitan and both companies have featured it prominently in their marketing campaigns. Apple has named its next Mac OS operating system
after El Capitan:
Oddly, Google has published a video featuring El Capitan to promote Google Maps:
I doubt El Capitan has any inherent value as a marketing focus and I wouldn’t be surprised if Google’s choice of this iconic rock-face is just its way of messing with Apple.
