I just watched a demo of the new beta Jaiku client for Series 60 devices (including Nokia smartphones). I think the client will only work on devices running the 3rd edition of the Series 60 operating system. I am using the current release on my N73 which only really displays contacts’ current status and allows for integration into my phone’s address book. The new version will also show me updates which is going to be more useful.
I have been contemplating moving off Twitter to Jaiku but there isn’t really a need to do that because my Twitter feed runs into my Jaiku stream anyway and I probably update my status via Twitter far more than Jaiku anyway. On the other hand it is more convenient to subscribe to someone’s Jaiku feed if they use Jaiku as their stream aggregator. I do see myself using Jaiku more often when I have the new client for my phone. It is already easier to use Jaiku on my phone than Twitter (which requires connecting with the web browser, logging in and keeping it running).
So, do you use Jaiku?
