Allison Shields, a consultant to law firms on a variety of topics, was interviewed by Business Networking Advice recently on her take on business networking. I particularly like her view that networking is not just about handing out a bunch of business cards and saying hi at a networking function. Effective business networking is about building meaningful relationships with people that you can build on going forward. It is really important to invest yourself in your efforts to network and by this I mean you are best served by being yourself and showing people what you are passionate about. They may share your passion and that is a fantastic basis for a business relationship.
