Waterfront locks

I came across these water locks at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town during my trip there for the BlackBerry Experience roadshow. They operate using some pretty incredible, co-ordinated machinery. I shot a little video of one of the locks closing and the other opening about half an hour later.

Of course I shot a series of photos too. I experimented a bit with angles, shutter speed and perspectives (well, as much as I could from my vantage point). It is an interesting setup to photograph.

I processed this set with VSCO Film 06. You can probably see why I like this film pack so much.
