Pygmy hippo up close and personal

I took our kids to the Johannesburg Zoo this morning for a little outing and we were treated to a relatively rare and close encounter with the pygmy hippos in their enclosure. We usually don’t see much of them when we visit the zoo.

I also got a number of photos of one of them eating. Not exactly riveting stuff but I was glad I had a chance to catch one in clear view.
