Missed opportunities in retail architecture

I was at Design Quarter this morning and took this photo while on a walk back to where I was working. It reminded me how we have such intriguing and remarkable architecture in our shopping malls and next generation business districts and yet the companies which own or run these developments seem to regard efforts to share experiences of these developments through photography, for example, as an affront.

How small-minded.

Update: I watched a 2009 TED video of Danish architect, Bjarke Ingels’ talk. His talk is inspiring and well worth watching because it ignites passion in architecture and design. At least it did for me.
