Life and its many opportunities

A colleague’s server crashed over the weekend and he has just spent pretty much the whole morning running around trying to have the server restored or somehow repaired.  The fact that it crashed is bad enough but what really seems to be causing a delay is that he requires his original installation disks to reinstall what needs to be reinstalled.

Here is a simple tip: keep all of your original installation disks close at hand so if your computers do go down, you have the tools you need to either repair your computers or reinstall your operating system and applications.  Some software vendors don’t leave copies of the software they sell you with you when they leave so it is a really good idea to make arrangements with them to leave a disk with you together with the necessary registration codes in case you need to reinstall the software.
