Some random chair

I have no idea how this chair arrived here, in a nearby park, but I had to capture it before it moved on.

Just another random item that makes life a little more interesting …

Life’s a beach …

I’m not really a beach person but this is pretty.

Time for a break

The last eight months have been busy, to say the least. I’m looking forward to a family staycation for a couple weeks!

Somehow the clouds make the heat less oppressive

It’s mid-Summer in this part of the world. It’s generally pretty hot, as you can imagine.

Somehow, having some cloud cover makes the heat a little less oppressive.

Flower bed

This is a pretty good Dad joke, I think. 😂

The Explainer

A big part of my role as a Happiness Engineer at Automattic is explaining stuff to our users. I have a knack for it, particularly when it comes to email support.

I commented to some colleagues today that I should change my job title to “Explainer” (we can basically choose our job titles at Automattic). One of them came up with this awesome mashup:

The Explainer

I had to share it. It’s awesome!

St Peter’s Basilica at night

We have a great view of St Peter’s Basilica from our hotel. I went up to the hotel’s rooftop deck before heading to my hotel room for the night to take a couple photos, including this one:

We’ll probably get to see more of the Vatican, and other sights in Rome on Friday. For now, we have a pretty good view of this structure.

Old sewing machines, and antlers

I walk past an apartment that has a really interesting collection of old sewing machines, and other items including what seem to be antlers of some description. It also looks like they have at least one scythe up there too.

I find this stuff fascinating for some reason.
