As you may have seen in the media, Israel has been vaccinating citizens with the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Because I’m diabetic, and over 40, I qualify for earlier access to the vaccine.
I was finally able to make my appointments for the two doses.

I had my first dose last night. The injection was a bit more intense than the annual flu jab. This is probably due to me having somewhat scrawny shoulders, the large needle, and the medical professional possibly having studied at the Stabby Stabby School of Injections.
Still, I’m glad I went.
2021-01-26
I received my second dose of the vaccination today. I barely felt the injection (which is great). The MedTech who helped me was awesome.
The queue for vaccinations was pretty long when I arrived at my appointment time. There were 19 people when I arrived, and the clinic was busy.
This is a great sign, I think. I saw that our stats for the vaccination are currently as follows:
- About 2.6 million Israelis have received the first dose; and
- About 1.2 million have received the second dose.
We have a population of around 9.2 million Israelis as of last July. Not too bad going.
