Blogging is the antidote to social media woes

I like this approach, it’s what I’ve been doing for a little while now:

If you are frustrated with the state of social networks, I recommend blogging more. I love seeing new blogs and photo blogs just as we’re having a serious debate in the mainstream about social networks. The way out isn’t easy, but there’s a clear path waiting for us to take it.

True, I have stopped using Facebook and Instagram for months now, Twitter was another one I stopped last week because come to think of it, we are indirectly selling our time for free to this ‘giants’ of social media, I do not like that idea of wasting my time and splitting my attention at the same time. Hope to see more from you. Keep up the good work.

I wish more people would realize that decentralizing from social media is for their own good. So many people only write/post good stuff only on Facebook and don’t post anywhere else that it’s frustrating.

Definitely. I’m a big fan of the POSSE approach to publishing your content. The downside is that you’re not going to reach the sort of community you could reach if you just shared everything on Facebook, for example. That said, I’m happier on this side of the Web.
