Respect hard work

One piece of advice that has stuck with me for a long time is that we should respect a person whose work gives them dirty fingernails (I don’t remember the advice’s source). We tend to look down on people doing what we see as menial jobs and glorify the high-flyers. We should be doing a lot less of both.
