As much as I’d like to take a dig at the Post Office, it turns out that they’re actually very reliable at the moment. The stats I have are that 699 parcels went missing in the last year – with a 99 percent recovery rate. This is largely thanks to the cameras they have installed in the sorting depots, and also the new management’s excellent work.

I order online all the time and am yet to lose anything.

Something else is behind the Amazon decision, I think. But I’m not sure what it is. I’ve been speculating on my blog and will be speaking to relevant parties this week, with some luck.
