Nokia E71

This phone looks pretty awesome actually. Anyone have any feedback?

Anyone used this with a Mac? Does it sync well? Random questions and mental meanderings …

My last cellphone was the E61 and my girlfriend has the E61i. It’s an awesome phone but still on the big side. Adding GPS and a smaller size (ie the E71) would make it a super device. After using the E61 I can never go back to a non QWERTY cellphone.

With regards to iSync on the Mac you’ll have the ability to transfer contacts and appointments but you’ll not be able to backup your sms’s or install applications like you can using the Nokia software in Windows. It’s limited but if your needs are basic (contacts and appointments) like mine then it should do the job fine.

    Hey Saul

I use iSync to sync my contacts and calendar on my N73 (not so much since a phone firmware upgrade pretty much killed the bluetooth connection between my phone and Mac) so I am happy with that level of synchronisation.

Well it’s the exact same software so you’ll have the same services. E71 it is then!
That said, iPhone 2 is coming soon…

Bought it, and delivers on good looks and functionality.Isinc with Mac is in need of further research, does not work for now, but this was the same with my previous Nokia Smarfphone. In the end it will work….. after some intervention from my apple-whizzkid Kind regards, Joshua

I just ordered on yesterday actually. I wanted one for a while and just recently, my carrier (Centennial Wireless) just started carrying this model. I loved it in the store so I ordered one online so I could keep my existing handset. It will be here in a few days.I am a Mac users as well and I currently am able to Sync my Nokia 6300 using Bluetooth and iSync, I am hoping to do the same with this.

I've been syncing my E71 with my Mac using iSync (you need to download a plugin/patch from the Nokia site for the E71 – just look on the site or search Google for something like “Nokia E71 iSync”). I am going to try connecting my phone to my MacBook via Bluetooth for tethered Internet access later today. Hopefully I can figure out where I was going wrong with the review model.

This phone is really awesome. I have mine for two months, it`s great, I started syncing with iSync today, it syncs iCal and Agenda, even my google calendars loaded into iCal were synced, and if you remove a calendar and sync again, only the data from that calendar is removed from the phone.
