Nicci Ferguson Inc offers advice on Intellectual Property issues

Nicci Ferguson Inc.pngI am a little late with this but I received the following release from one of my colleagues:

LEARN HOW TO MAKE MONEY FROM YOUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

To mark World Intellectual Property Day on 26 April 2007, specialist ICT / IP law firm, Nicci Ferguson Incorporated, are offering free 20 minute consultations and a free e-mail hotline to assist entrepreneurs, software and website developers and other creative people in getting to grips with some of the basics of intellectual property law.

As IP becomes one of the most valuable assets in the modern economy, knowing how to identify, protect and exploit your intellectual and creative assets is crucial to creating wealth. Unfortunately, there is a lack of awareness amongst people working in creative industries as to what their IP rights are.

The service will run from 26 April to 10 May 2007 and bookings can be made by phoning Olivia at (021) 465 9175 or e-mailing your questions to mail@nicciferguson.co.za.

I agree, Samantha and I have been to many seminars and conferences explaining how IP is not really understood in this country, which is a great pity as IP rights can increase innovation and the economy.

People also don’t realise that IP is an asset that can be traded with as well as generate income.

It is something we personally try to educate people on in order to bring about more awareness.
