One on One

One of my clients has just been featured in this week’s Financial Mail and I thought I’d let you know.  I am really happy for him.  The shop is called One on One and is at the (soon to be) revamped Parktown Quarter shopping centre in Parktown.  One on One sells a range of antiques imported from countries like Holland.  Quoting from the Financial Mail article:

One on One sprang from an idea sparked when Riaan de Villiers and his architect partner Joe van Rooyen were searching for new space for Van Rooyen’s business. They discovered a stairway leading down from the premises they found on the first floor of the new Parktown Quarter.

"It was perfect and we decided to fill it with things we would have in our own home," says De Villiers.

There are some really fantastic items in the shop and prices range from under R200 to over R150 000 so there is likely to be something there for just about anyone.  According to the site:

One on One, an innovative concept store owned by Riaan de Villiers and architect Joe van Rooyen, specialises in selective European and Victorian lifestyle pieces. Riaan and Joe have distinctive skills and experience and they share a passion for the beauty of design, proportion and scale and how this transforms lifestyles.
The lifestyle pieces are individually sourced and selected by Riaan and Joe as part of the ethos and intention of One on One and include furniture, candelabras, chandeliers, mirrors, tableware and objets d’art, both antique and contemporary. They are elegant and classical. Bespoke. Eclectic. Rare.
The range is exclusive and limited. One on One will source a specific item as part of its service and passion to find you the perfect piece.

I really like that the web site has a catalogue of some of the items available for view.  You can get a pretty good sense of what is available on the site and I understand that new photos are being added from time to time as new stock arrives.
