I think it’s way too quick (and easy) to base the perceived relative success or failure on just one event, immediately jumping to geographical location and stereotypical personality types in those locations.

It could’ve been anything from the venue, time (sundown is at a different time), speakers, topical content, and so forth (it could’ve been the influence of those that were at the Joburg meeting sending bad vibes, for all we know).

And, even if it were that, there are tools to break up groups and inviting discussion between participants – and these aren’t yet incorporated into the programme.

I guess we’re learning that there aren’t just marketers and entrepreneurs and technies – there are particular skillsets such as facilitation that are necessary to conquer the world…
