Telkom’s ADSL network has been down or significantly impaired since yesterday evening due to some DNS issues on their side. To add to this their technicians are either apparently on strike, again, or they are only now returning to work so it is taking a little longer to repair the fault. Because of Telkom’s monopoly over ADSL at the moment, when Telkom is down, everyone is down (the people who use the wireless alternatives must be giggling quietly to themselves when they read news like this). This is another reason monopolies are bad. My mobile data bill is going to be huge this month!
