I complained about ecto, blog publishing software, a little while ago. Mostly I complained about my inability to upload images to my WordPress blogs and attributed this to some defect in ecto. Adriaan from ecto invited me to give him details of my issues using the Console in ecto, which I did. He came back to me with a suggestion that I make sure there is an “uploads” folder in the “wp-content” folder and that the “uploads” folder is writable. I had to create the folder (don’t know why WordPress doesn’t create that folder itself) and then after making sure the permissions were right, I was able to upload images to my blogs.
There is a thread in the ecto support fora that deals with this issue as well. Yes, I know, I could have looked harder for the answer instead of flaming ecto on this blog. What can I say? It was that time of month for me.
So, thanks for Adriaan for his help. Also, my apologies for blaming your software and accusing it of being faulty.
