Jonga News

Jonga News Capture

I wrote about Jonga a little while ago and while it hasn’t replaced Google as my primary search engine, I do love the interface.  I took a look at the Jonga page again today and noticed that Jonga now offers a Google News-type news service of its own predictably called Jonga News.  According to the site:

The selection of articles and their placement displayed here are automatically created by jonga from websites and or news sources which were spidered. All article summaries displayed are copyright of their respective authors and/or news websites. This page is updated on a continual basis. news.jonga.co.za is a non-commercial service with no forms of advertising whatsoever.

Google News

The site is a cross between IOL and Google News with South African stories placed above the fold, so to speak.  If you are looking for more recent local news this site may well be the site you are looking for.  To add to the site’s general utility, you can also subscribe to the site’s RSS feed and have your news delivered directly to your news aggregator.  I love this type of service.  It is clever, clean and has those little extras that make the whole thing worthwhile.
